Hi, everyone! I will be giving a lecture at the 69th Midwest Conference on Asian Affairs (MCAA 2020) in just a few hours. It will be on writers Ishikawa Tatsuzō and Shimazaki Tōson, who traveled to Brazil and Argentina in the 1930s. The whole panels sounds very interesting: Imperial Encounters: Writers, Filmmakers, Scientists, and Radicals in Imperial Japan. It’s hosted by the Asian Studies Center at Michigan State University on OCT 17 6:00 PM-7:30 PM, though please note that it is Michigan (EDT) timezone. Hope you can all join!
