Designed by architect Mitsuru Senda, the Nakajima Library in Akita City is literally a «Book Colosseum» in which students are constantly facing a book. All of the wood used for the construction is Akita Cedar Tree (Akitasugi), cultivated only in local woodlands. Aside from its unforgettable architecture, the library holds 75,000 books, 3,000 audiovisual resources and is open to all public 24/7 all-year round. It is a true bastion to the devotion that the Japanese feel for books. #librarynomad #bookworm #architecture #woodandbooks #dreamscape
