One of the things I love most about Japan is the postal service, which is used for almost anything, from letters and packages to certified information such as university documents. A young and post-modern person like me, however, never uses the mailbox. I don’t even understand how it works. Instead, I would go to the post office, make the line, wait ten minutes or so, and deliver my package in-hand. Once, the post office clerk, an old lady with a ghibiliesque look, said to me: «Oh, it’s you again, I told you you can use the mailbox for these». I felt so… old school.
